Chris Maguire is the founder and CEO of LIO Insurance Company. Prior to LIO, he was the President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Underwriting Officer of Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY) where he gained over 25 years of insurance operating experience. PHLY was publicly traded from 1993 until it was sold to the Tokio Marine Group in 2008 for $4.7 billion, a 25x increase in shareholder value. During his time at PHLY, Chris was responsible for designing and underwriting over 70 commercial property/casualty and professional liability insurance products.
Chris and his wife Ellen are active members in the philanthropic community and in 2015 founded the Ellen and Christopher Maguire Endowed Scholarship Fund for the purpose of funding scholarships at Caron for adolescents and young adults, giving many in our community hope for a brighter future. In addition, Chris serves on the board of directors for the Haverford School, the Caron Foundation, Kieve-Wavus Education and the Maguire Foundation, is a member of President’s Advisory Council of Villanova University and the Chairman of The Cobbs Creek Restoration Board.
